Can I moor my boat all year round?

Yes, 12 month moorings are now possible, as the water levels are kept constant by the Environment Agency.

How do I pay for my mooring?

You can pay for your mooring either by cheque or direct bank transfer by arrangement.

How long does it take to get to The Wash from the Grand Sluice?

It takes approximately one hour to reach Tab’s Head.

How can I contact the Grand Sluice Lock keeper?

Grand Sluice Lock keeper 07387 050967 or 01205 364864, located opposite the Sluice Gate on Witham Bank East, Boston, PE21 9JU.

Please note – all vessels passing through the Grand Sluice lock into the tidal Haven must monitor VHF Channel 12 for contact with the Port of Boston.

Mariners navigating the River Witham seawards of Grand Sluice and extending to the outer limits of the Port Of Boston Jurisdiction Area are to monitor VHF Channel 12. The Port Control Office at Boston, callsign ‘Boston Port Control’ can provide commercial traffic forecasts. Port Control Office contact numbers are 01205 362328 or 07966 244341, email portcontrol@portofboston.co.uk The office is not manned 24 hours a day but only at tide times when commercial shipping movements are planned to occur.
